Wale's debut was released yesterday and word on the street is it's CLASSIC.this post isnt about wale its about word classic.CLASSIC: of the first or highest quality, class, or rank: a classic piece of work, serving as a standard, model, or guide. It was brought to my attention that some believe a classic doesn't exist in todays world. that statement caught my eye. in a era where Compact Disc or for better terms CD is slowly dying by way of MP3s how can the term classic exist in such a modern world.I myself really enjoy going to J&R and buying an album its almost like picking up a couple of books.call me old fashion but hey thats just me. I have now come to terms with the word CLASSIC along with the radio and cd or anything else from 18 years ago is slowly being shown the door out. If Wale's Attention:Deficiet is actually a CLASSIC i strongly say it is the last classic since Lupe's The Cool.if correct that was about around 2007. we are no longer spoiled with CLASSICS like the people were in the 90s. So albums like Be,The College Dropout,Graduation,The Cool,Lord Willin',The Blueprint, etc. are so highly regarded today. but i dont think its because of the times, CLASSICS dont exist because artists arent like how they use to be. no more lyrics a factor, if u have a dope beat and crazy dance your considered successful. fuck that, niggas are straight fuckin whack! soulija boy, new boyz, etc. but just as slow as the death of the cd lyrics and substance is crawling through the door.

lyrics are still here...it's just nobody is using them properlly. They are just pointless words coming out of an entertainers mouth (ex. Lil Wayne, Drake etc.)You have to be an artist with a love & an appreciation for every syllable of your own poetry in order to make a classic. The words must actually mean something. Hopefully Wale did it
